My Top 6 Birthday Wish List

I had so much fun putting together the Not So Ugly Christmas Sweaters list that I decided to do the same thing for my birthday–which is inching up FAST. I love Christmas but I also love 3 days before which is my Birthday—December 22nd. I’ll spare you the story of how I got cheated every year with a two in one gift and instead I’ll get to the point—my Birthday Wish List. I’m not greedy and actually I do prefer cash because all my life people have told me that I was difficult to buy for because they never know what I want. So, here you go—the Top 6 Things on my Birthday List!

Heather Blue V Neck Cashmere Sweater

It’s cute. It will pair well with jeans and I’m trying to mix it up with color a little bit so that everything I wear isn’t always PINK.

Top 3 Tall Boots I’m Crushing On (Here’s Why)

Let’s talk about BOOTS this season. For some reason I have totally accommodated the North Carolina weather. I have slides, I have flats but I have no boots and I really want to remedy that. So I went on a hunt for the cutest tall boots I could find and here are my Top 3 faves.

The first is the Elle Knee Boot by a LUXE brand named, Dear Frances. I know you love them already. They’re sleek and fashionable. What immediately drew me to the boot was the round toe and the sturdy block heel. The leather is supple and so many of the reviews raved about the intricate stitching and how well they last. That’s exactly what I was looking for—a boot that only gets better with time. The price tag is a bit steep at $795 however at the time of my posting there’s a 25% off code that brings that total down to $596 so, enjoy!

GRAB A PAIR HERE.

Next the Krafty Knee High Boot by Chinese Laundry. I found these accidentally when I stumbled across the woman pictured above walking across the street in a pair of tan suede boots. I wasn’t even looking for a suede boot. I’m smitten with these only because I had a pair of ankle boots by this brand and I loved them until they totally wore out. This brand says boots run a bit small so order half size up and that’s exactly what I’m going to do—because I want them so bad and I’m already mentally pairing with adorable puff sleeve sweater dresses. They’re affordable (from my perspective) at only $139.

GRAB A PAIR HERE.

Last but not least–I’m rounding out your collection with a brown boot. These are always my staples in my wardrobe–black, brown and then an alternate color like tan or grey or even a burst of color like red or my ultimate fave–PINK. These brown Leigh Suede Boots however are by Michael Kors. They just scream “holiday” to me. I remember when I’d have to make sure I had comfy boots on when I was out shopping on the weekend. These are something that you can do a lot of running around in without your feet hurting. The slouchy-ness of these boots are so lovely. I could see myself wearing them pushed down a bit with tights, leggings and a cute bulky sweater. How would you wear these boots? I’d love to know what you’d pair them with.

Not So Ugly Christmas Sweaters

Don’t ask me how I felt down into the vortex of Christmas sweaters. Blame it on the Hallmark and Lifetime movies. But I saw a not so ugly Christmas sweater and it was on from there. My Mom used to love Christmas. I think she would have loved these. Go ahead and browse so that you can get something CUTE for that holiday party–even if it’s virtual.

Rachel Zoe Claudette Platform Shoes

I shared these 7 Things You May Not Know About Me on Instagram and because I’m trying hard to get back into the flow of blogging–I shared it here as well. Ready? Here we go!

1. I loooooooove shoes! This really a no brainer because if you’ve spent any considerable amount of time with me you’ve already seen the signs. Right now it’s to the point where my husband can spot a cute shoe and immediately brings it to my attention. Fun times!

2. I once went 3 FULL years without buy a single pair! This was a period of time in my life where I was trying to BREAK the obsession. I don’t want to be obsessed with anything because then your obsession is what has control. So I put myself on a shoe diet. I refused to buy, to look or even consider. It worked out well for my bank account.

3. This is my FIRST pair of Rachel Zoe shoes! I can’t believe it because I loved ever episode of her show and I love her style. The thing I love about her is that she’s not just a celeb slapping her name on product–you can tell that everything she creates is something that she’d wear herself. When I saw these shoes I fell in love. They were the last pair on Amazon. I tried them on and they fit like a dream and look amazing on the feet.

4. I recently bought a pair of Christian Louboutins and had to return them (see #5)

5. I hate wearing shoes that hurt my feet no matter how much they cost! When I bought the So Kate’s I had heard horror stories, but you know how fashionistas are–they have to find out for themselves. I stretched them with my professional shoe stretchers and still–it was a no go. I could not imagine putting my feet in those things and being okay. Pain and fashion don’t go together for me and so, yes, I returned them.

6. The most comforable pair of shoes I own are my Casadei platforms and my YSL Tribute Sandals! Years ago I heard how comfortable the Casedei platforms were. Celebs were snatching them up like crazy. I got a pair and never wore them but then I finally did and WHOA! Same with the YSL Tribute Sandals–yes I had to stretch them, because I’d rather the stretcher break in my shoes than my feet having to do all the work. I stretched them, put them on and they fit like a dream. Love them so much that I have the gold and white on my radar. Stay tuned.

7. I was featured on The Today Shoe in a shoe segment back in 2013! If you’ve never heard me share this before you don’t know what you’re missing. I got an email from a book editor asking me if I wanted to do a shoe segment since I was running a shoe blog at the time and I happily agreed. They came, they did video, took sound bytes and the rest is history.

Your turn–tell me something about shoes. Do you love ’em. Hate ’em? What are your faves? 👠👠 —
