After an intimate time in prayer this morning I encountered the word “drought”.
Someone was equating the first four months of this year to a drought in their lives and others were coming into agreement with it.
As I meditated on the word to see what God was saying, immediately the Lord began unfolding things and He began to speak regarding the perceived “drought” and what He knew about the matter.
God said, tell them, “You’re not in a drought. I’m orchestrating a divine recompense on your behalf!”
He said, “You are not at your end, you are at your new beginning as you enter the month of grace.”
The Oxford Dictionary definition of Recompense is to make amends for loss or harm suffered and the restoration for that loss.
Many, like the widow of Zarephath in 2 Kings, are at their breaking point, down to their last morsel of food and just want to give up and die. Elisha relieved her distress via a miracle, but it was also her obedience and her following the instructions of the prophet that mattered too. As we read in scripture, the oil continued flowing as long as she had any empty vessels to receive it.
Here are the Key Scriptures in 2 Kings 4:3-7
“Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”
So, she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.”
And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So, the oil ceased. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.””
God is saying that our natural minds cannot fathom the things that He is restoring and returning to us, uncovering for us and allowing us to see and locate and claim again as our own. Some of the things being restored back to us are things lost, stolen or mismanaged over several family generations.
To Remain in Right Standing to Receive the Promise here are 3 Keys:
The Lord is urging us in this hour to stop trusting only what we see with our natural eyes.
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him,” 1 Corinthians 2:9.
We have to press into Him for revelations and increase our time of intimacy with Him.
He is also saying we must allow our faith to make room for our oil (provision) in this hour because just as the woman with the issue of blood, our faith can make us whole, not just from sickness, but all areas of our lives including finances, wisdom and success.
“And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction,” Mark 5:34
Faith always pleases God and it always works to our benefit and defeats the enemy.
Lastly, He wants us to speak only what we want to see so that we don’t give life to things that will try to consume what He is so graciously and lovingly restoring to us.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit,” Proverbs 18:21.
Let’s praise Him in advance and receive this divine recompense with gladness.
